This year Mainstream Orlando is partnering with Convoy of Hope to provide disaster relief to the victims of Hurricane Harvey, Maria and Irma. When I first heard about The Drive: Disaster Relief, I knew I had to do something. This project is very close to my heart because I have family in Puerto Rico that was affected by Hurricane Maria. I set a goal to raise $150 and I honestly had NO idea how I was going to come up with it. Over the past few years I have budgeted whatever goal I set to donate for The Drive but this year, I felt God was tugging on my heart to do something different.

I was inspired to create a raffle based off someone else’s similar idea. I had every intention of making it my own but was still fearful on if I was going to be able to raise all the funds or not. I created together a Treat Yo’ Self Basket for girls who are in need of some loving! I wanted to make this a fun project but still reach my personal goal to donate. I have entered every missions market The Voice held on a Sunday night, which provided me with a little over half of my goal! I was reluctant still on how to continue pressing towards my goal but never gave up. I decided to post my raffle on social media and text some of my friends who would be willing to donate and raised even more money! I am so happy that I stepped out of my comfort zone this year and made a decision to do something different. I am reminded that it is not always about what we have but what we are willing to do with what we have!
