3 Ways to Make His Presence, Your Priority

It is almost impossible to step in through the Mainstream Building entrance doors these past three Sunday nights of 2018, and not be inspired or changed in some way. As the grey and black seats have begun to overflow with people, each seat  has been filled with new dreams, more hope, changing outlooks and an overall desire to seek after God and what He wants to do through our lives.

Recently, Mainstream Orlando has joined together for  “His Presence, My Priority”  a series in which all four ministries, have come together to fix our gaze back to why we do it all to begin with it. Back to putting our relationship with God first, above all else.

Whether it has been for jobs, restoration, family members, or even healing; there is no denying that that the spirit of God has continued to push us in a new way and as we put Him first, he takes care of the rest. In correlation to this month’s series, here are 3 ways that you can make God’s presence your priority:

1) Seek God for the Answers

“Teach me your way, LORD, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name”- Psalm 86:11

We so often want everything now, even if we aren’t ready for it. But we can’t outsmart or outmaneuver God’s timing. We can’t skip the preparation that needs to take place to get to where we want to be. As you make His presence your priority, seek God for the answers; for guidance in every area of your life (through prayer, reading the Word) and he will answer when you ask for it!

2) Talk to God Anywhere

One of the best things about this time of praying and fasting, is that as we are denying our flesh, we are drawing closer to Him. In my own personal walk, I love knowing that I can pray and talk to God anywhere! In the car, in the shower, in a difficult situation; know with confidence that you can talk to God in any place and with honesty as if he were a friend. He will never leave you or forsake you.

3) Know that you are loved

“Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever”- Psalm 23:6

Knowing that you are loved by God has to be the greatest reassurance. It’s the extra pep in our step when we’ve been rejected. The smile we have when we’re facing something complicated but know that He is there with us. When you know that you are loved, His presence and your identity in Him serves as a firm foundation. It doesn’t change. When you make His presence your priority He will guide you along the right paths for his name’s sake.
