As someone walked into an establishment I was visiting, I decided to help him by opening the door. With his hands full, he approached me and thanked me by saying “Thank you, Man” which directed me into a vortex and into a deep thought about my reality and identity.
You: Dang you got deep mad quick!
Me: Right?? Pull me back y’all!
As I struggle to completely understand my own identity, it is evident that sin- back in the garden and originating from the fall- would have taken a toll into my original purpose and perfect design. Moving down from generation to generation and deeply rooted into my DNA, altering even the smallest cell, memory, facial characteristics I would have inherited from my ancestors.
But..
It is after so many aeons that my existence was planned and selected for such times like these. In this very moment and after so many years after the fall, I was selected for this era. I was brought broken into an even more shattered world.
So I thought…
For me not to explore the side of me that is evident to the world (Man) would be an injustice to my significance. It would be a contribution to the greater fall of man and a deviation even further from my original intent.
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5
As we all seek acceptance for who we are in this time, we must first accept and explore who we have been created to be. I’m not referring to teacher, artist, astronaut, but to sons and daughters of Christ whom he has appointed us to a greater purpose. After all, he knew the fall would happen, and even after he knew you before the womb. If you and I believe this to be true, then why would we assume he places us in the wrong body or gave us a distorted attraction?
Remember, God didn’t bring lies into the world, Satan did. Due to this monumental event in the garden, the generations to come after the Fall would have never been the original intent. We are a product of the Fall, and when we truly accept this revelation, we can then truly begin to accept the teachings and life of Christ as a model to love by, until we are fully restored.
What happens until then?
We hold still and know that He is God.
Will you struggle?
We all will! But Luke 9:23 shows us a part of God that is so beautiful and that makes us aware He is FULLY AWARE of how we are tempted and struggle daily.
He said:
23 Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.
Key words:
Deny yourself
Take up your struggle
AND follow him daily.
You got this and He has you.
God who has greater plans for His creation, is on your side. He is for you and not against you. And the struggle we all have about our identities is nothing foreign to Him. As a matter of fact, He began to fix the issue when He sent His only son Jesus to die for us. Whichever happens in the in between, that space we call life; remember to enjoy yourself and honor Him in it. Trust me! We will have such a great time when we go back home! you soon!
